I passed a major milestone in November – NinjaBudgeter has officially been live for a year! WOOOOOOO

This is a great opportunity to reflect on how my first year has gone and the lessons that I’ve learned.

Honestly, this has been a difficult year for our family. Right now, we’re in the thick of parenthood, with 3 kids under 7. Just finding time to write between picking peas out of a toddler’s meal and stepping Lego bricks is pretty tough.

This blog is a business.

At least, that’s what I want it to be. When I started it I had big ambitions of becoming a world-class personal finance blogger and living off the income that I knew this site would produce.

If you have a blog of your own, you probably know what I mean.

It’s not enough to write posts and put them up. If you want your blog to grow, you need to be engaged on social media. You need to engage in the comments discussions on other blogs, keep on top of SEO, backlinking, networking, site security, design, email list blah blah blah.

Monthly Income Reports

Do you want to learn how to make money blogging? I sure do. And the best way to learn something is from somebody who is already doing that thing successfully. That’s why I love reading other bloggers monthly income reports.

There are people out there making boatloads of money from their blogs. People like Pat Flynn from Smart Passive Income and Lindsay from Pinch of Yum. These bloggers work like rented mules to get where they are and I appreciate that they put their income out there for the world to see.
